About the Opportunity
Mallee CMA is seeking an Assistant Accountant based in Mildura, VIC. Reporting to the Manager of Safety and Business Services, the successful candidate will support accounts payable and contract administration functions, contributing to the financial processes within the Corporate Services Unit.
Working in a small team, the Assistant Accountant will support project staff with the provision of 1-on-1 training in areas such as purchase orders, and will handle supplier queries, and assist with monthly financial tasks. Strong communication skills, teamwork, and the ability to multitask effectively will be essential.
Key responsibilities include:
Processing accounts payable invoices and contract claims
Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies
Generating and processing Accounts Payable payment runs
Maintaining supplier and contract party details
Assisting with audits and financial reporting
Supporting financial management tasks such as month-end activities, fixed asset registers, and budget reports
Handling corporate card processing and reconciliations
Supporting procurement processes and ensuring adherence to policies
