About the opportunity
This company is currently seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to assist their Finance Team for a 12-month contract period. This may be extended; however, this is not guaranteed. The main duty of the position will be to perform routine accounting activities such as maintenance of the general ledger, preparation of various accounting statements and financial reports, and accounts payable or receivable functions.

Responsibilities Under direct supervision, performs accounting activities in accordance with the organization's accounting policies, procedures and reporting requirements. Reconciles accounts, posts journal entries and maintains accurate general ledger. Collects and compiles simple financial information and assists senior accountants with accounting statements and financial reports. Reports may include profit and loss statements, balance sheets, depreciation statements, cash flow and regulatory reports and filings. Skills and Experience Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline. Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role; financial reporting accounting experience preferred.
