We have a vacancy for a detailed oriented, motivated and highly organised professional to fill the role of Assistant Accountant within our Finance Department.
We are flexible with total hours and as such, while those hours are Monday to Friday in business hours, this could be structured as a full or part time position, so could suit a university student or parent returning to the workforce.
Salary will be commensurate with experience for the right candidate.
Reporting to the Accountant and Financial Controller, you will be working on all aspects of financial reporting. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Preparation of daily, weekly and monthly reports for relevant stakeholdersAssist with the maintenance of the general ledgerAssist with the maintenance of the fixed asset registerAssist with the preparation and delivery of month end reconciliationsAssist with the preparation and delivery of monthly reports and other ad hoc reports as requiredAssist with payroll processingAssist with the preparation of year end financial statements as requiredAssist with internal budgeting preparationAssist with ensuring compliance with relevant statutory obligations including but not limited to superannuation, payroll tax, BAS, FBT, income taxAssist with the maintain of and monitor compliance with Standard Operating ProceduresOther business functions and duties as may reasonably be requiredAbout youThis is a hands-on role and you will be required to show initiative, be flexible and have an enthusiastic approach to tasks, it is essential that you are able to meet deadlines and manage competing prioritiesHold or be currently studying in relevant tertiary qualifications in commerce, accountancy or related discipline or have relevant prior work experience which you can demonstrate covers the requirements of this roleHave an eye for detail and accuracyAbility to apply analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to work within a team and liaise appropriately with your direct managers and other employees within the businessAbility to establish and build effective working relationships with relevant stakeholders (internal and external)Strong communication skills, ability to express information, thoughts, and ideas in a clear and appropriate mannerEstablished knowledge and skills using computer-based Office systems, including Office 365 and ExcelKeeping it above board – Eligibility criteriaYou must have existing unrestricted rights to work in Australia.
