This fun, family vibe business are seeking an immediately available Assistant Accountant/Accountant to join their finance team on a temp-to-perm basis.
The successful candidate must have full working rights and be able to start working within two weeks maximum.
The Role Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, this role involves supporting the finance function across a range of essential accounting tasks, with responsibilities that include: Cash receipting, banking, and payment processing – Accurately record incoming cash, process payments, and manage banking transactions.
Processing customer payments – Record and apply customer payments promptly to their respective accounts, including fees, bonds and RAD.
Customer account reconciliation – Reconcile customer accounts regularly to ensure all transactions are accurate and up to date.
Resolving billing disputes – Address and resolve customer billing issues, working to ensure customer satisfaction and maintain accuracy.
Track customer accounts for any delinquent activity and follow up as needed.
Monthly reporting to management – Prepare and deliver comprehensive monthly reports to management, summarizing key financial information.
Provide prompt and professional responses to customer inquiries about billing and payment issues.
Corporate credit card processing – Process and reconcile corporate credit card expenses, especially for travel-related transactions.
Staff travel reimbursements – Process staff travel reimbursement requests, ensuring compliance with internal policies.
Accounts payable voucher processing – Review, code, and enter AP vouchers into the general ledger with accuracy.
Capital expenditure (CAPEX) processing – Manage CAPEX transactions following office procedures and policies.
Supplier accounts liaison – Coordinate with facility administration staff to address supplier account issues and ensure smooth processing.
Reconciliation of bank accounts and credit card statements – Reconcile the main bank account, corporate credit card statements, and petty cash accounts to maintain accurate financial records.
Assist in audit preparation by gathering required documentation and preparing supporting schedules for external auditors.
Skills and Experience Required: Experience : Prior experience in a similar role, ideally within the aged care or healthcare industry.
Systems : Proficiency in MYOB and Excel; confident handling large datasets and using Excel for reporting and analysis.
High level of accuracy and meticulous attention to detail across all tasks.
Proactive and resourceful approach to identifying and resolving issues.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
