About the role - As an Asset Planning Engineer – Track & Civil, you will play a pivotal role in developing and managing the Major Periodic Maintenance (MPM) Program for track and civil infrastructure.
This position involves ensuring the optimal lifecycle management of assets through data-driven strategies and collaboration with various stakeholders.
Key responsibilities: Validate MPM nominations using inspection reports, historical records, and GIS tools.Develop remedial measures for asset management plans in line with V/Line obligations.Conduct site validations and facilitate workshops with stakeholders.Prepare and develop Stage Gate 1 Project Briefs, including scope, cost estimates, and risk assessments.Monitor and reschedule the annual workbank to maintain budget compliance.Implement asset management practices in line with ISO standards.Assist in infrastructure incident investigations and provide subject matter expertise.About you - The successful candidate for the Asset Planning Engineer – Track & Civil role will be a highly skilled professional with extensive experience in track maintenance, design, and project management within the railway industry.
They will possess strong analytical abilities, excellent stakeholder management skills, and a thorough understanding of asset management practices.
This individual will be adept at developing and managing maintenance programs, ensuring the optimal lifecycle management of assets, and collaborating effectively with various stakeholders.
Our ideal candidate will possess the following: Extensive experience in track maintenance, design, and/or delivery.Strong knowledge of infrastructure asset management in track maintenance.Proven project management skills in maintenance planning and/or delivery.Demonstrated ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team in a railway environment.Excellent stakeholder management and engagement skills.Strong analytical and planning abilities.Accountability for results and problem-solving.Flexibility and innovation in project dynamics.Proficiency in MS Office Suite.Methodical and thorough approach.Self-aware and growth-oriented.Adheres to V/Line's values and code of conduct.Embraces change and supports initiatives.Demonstrated alignment to V/Line's values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership and human rights.Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or tertiary equivalent in an engineering discipline, preferably civil, railway/track or mechanical.Rail asset management knowledge, familiarity with train and freight operations in Victoria, experience with MS Access and ERP systems like Oracle JD Edwards.A full position description will be provided to interviewees.
