The team/department: You will be joining Western Power's Network Maintenance Planning & Delivery- Planned Works Engineering team that deals with processing planned as well as reactive works related to electrical network assets.
What you will be doing: As an Asset Planning Engineer, you will be focussing on:
Responsible for applying industry best practice operational asset management principles to deliver optimal life cycle performance of selected network assets.Assess and identify assets to be addressed in the works plan, through the application of asset strategies and funding constraints.Ensure that all significant variations, outside tolerances align with asset strategies, are rigorously assessed from a thorough value-for-money business perspective before agreeing to revised work program targets and performance outcomes.Contribute to technical solutions, technical advice and problem solving on asset(s).Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve asset and works program objectives.Operate within defined business processes, asset strategies and network strategies.Take personal accountability for work performance and be open to other contributions.Work cooperatively and maintain open communication within the section and across all stakeholders.What you will get from the role: Manage assets in electrical distribution field as per asset management strategiesAddressing electrical distribution network risk through optimum asset treatmentsProfessional development opportunity for a career progression in electrical distribution field with active coordination across engineering design & standards, network operation and construction areas.Western Power isn't just a workplace; it's a community where innovation thrives, safety is paramount, and support is always at hand. The skills and experience you will have: We are seeking someone with experience and attributes that include:
At least 5+ years demonstrated engineering experience in preferably an electricity utility environment.Strong conceptual and analytical skills coupled with commercial and business acumen.Understanding of risk and compliance management and its application to the businessComplete knowledge of Western Power's relevant asset strategiesImportant information about Western Power: We are committed to our Disability Access and Inclusion Plan 2021 - 2027 and ensuring that people with disability have equal opportunities to gain and maintain employment with Western Power.
