The new Australian operations of a large, listed company pursuing a new technology driven decarbonization strategy is focusing on investments in renewable energy assets and new energy technologies, trading and supply of energy as well as demand and portfolio management solutions.
The Australian business has an ambitious growth target with an active buy and build strategy, which includes development of projects in solar, battery and pumped hydro energy storage as well as the acquisition of existing renewable energy generation and storage assets. They are currently trading and have applied for an electricity retail license.
The CEO is looking to hire an Asset Performance Analyst to support the Asset Manager in managing the operational and financial performance of portfolio assets. Currently there are two operating solar farms with other projects under development – batteries, solar and pumped hydro.
Key responsibilities include:
Monitor and analyse asset performance against budget and identify source of losses.
Identify asset improvement opportunities through regular performance analysis of SCADA and market data, asset dispatch and outages/faults.
Monitor and manage deadlines regarding reporting requirements, including financing requirements, applicable asset authorizations and key contracts.
Monitor and analyse any market activities, including settlement, dispatch, dynamic bidding performance.
Facilitate communication between on-site staff, contractors and asset management team.
Review and discuss maintenance reports with service providers.
Keep records and lists of operational issues and key activities, as reported from on-site staff, contractors or self-identified. Ensure issues are resolved either by on-site staff, contractors or yourself.
Requirements
A tertiary qualification in a technical, engineering or commercial discipline.
Previous technical, commercial or financial analyst experience with some construction or engineering experience an advantage.
Knowledge of solar and battery asset operations.
Advanced project management skills, preferably with a project management qualification.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Adept at problem identification and resolution.
Experience with asset management related tools.
Experience with HSEQ, risk management and contract management.
An understanding of energy use and energy markets in Australia.
Excellent time management and organisation skills.
Proactive with high levels of initiative.
Collaborative team player.
Current driver's licence.
Willingness to travel regionally and interstate.
Australian citizen or permanent resident.
