About the role: As a part of our Professional Standards team, you will be responsible for conducting assessments of a blend of high, medium and low risk members/firms participating in our CPA Australia Best Practice Program. Assessments will involve conducting a face to face/virtual whole of business review. In some instances, assessments will involve working collaboratively with an External (Member) Assessor. This role can be based in any of our capital city offices, and you may need to travel interstate and regionally throughout the year.
Your Key Duties: Plan, conduct and document CPA Australia Best Practice Program assessments within a team dedicated to the assessment of members providing either Audit and Assurance Services or Non-Assurance Services.Draft assessment findings report and make corrective action recommendations in a timely manner.Provide accurate assessment of business and compliance risks, providing guidance to members on risk mitigation.Act as an Engagement Manager, supporting members under assessment, being their point of contact pre, during and post assessment.Provide trusted advice and guidance to others in and interacting with the CPA Australia Best Practice Program.Ability to actively listen and understand member needs and concerns.Communicate with compassion when a member is in crisis.About You: Degree qualified, you will be a current member of CPA Australia or equivalent. You have a good working knowledge of public accounting services, with experience as an accounting professional in the accounting/audit/financial services industry. You will enjoy driving quality outcomes for the CPA Australia Best Practice Program and have specialist knowledge and previous experience as a quality reviewer.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential to the success in this role, which includes demonstrating strong stakeholder management experience by developing trusted relationships with members and other key stakeholders.
You have knowledge of the Accounting Professional Ethical Standards (APES) framework and the Australian and New Zealand regulatory environment for accounting professionals, with particular emphasis on auditors and auditing standards.
