Assessment Planner Cadet Randwick City Council Administration Building, 30 Frances Street, Randwick, New South Wales, Australia Req #493 Wednesday, 8 January 2025 Closing date: 11:59pm AEST Wednesday 22 January 2025 Status: Full-time, Nominal Term of 24 months Salary: Cadet - $72,265.74 per annum + 11.5% superannuation  Join our team and contribute to serving the Randwick community while gaining valuable professional experience.
This cadetship (in Development Assessment) provides: Hands-on training Career development opportunities Working alongside experienced professionals Building skills in teamwork, customer service, and operational and/or technical support while getting paid Gaining practical expertise and insights for a successful future in their chosen field Purpose: To be eligible for this cadetship you must be currently enrolled and completing a Town Planning degree such as a Bachelor of City Planning and be in your penultimate or final year.

The role emphasizes the development of skills in teamwork, customer service, and operational or technical support, providing trainees with practical expertise and insights to help pave the way for a successful career in their chosen field.
The Assessment Planner Cadet will have the opportunity to work within a dynamic, collaborative professional team, gaining hands-on experience in the assessment and processing of development applications while providing expert planning advice to customers.
This role will involve close collaboration with our Development Assessment Team, where you will focus on statutory planning and the facilitation of high-quality design outcomes that align with Council's planning policies and regulations.
As an Assessment Planner Cadet, you will play a key role in reviewing development proposals, ensuring compliance with local planning controls, and contributing to the delivery of strategic planning initiatives.
You will gain valuable experience in balancing regulatory requirements with the promotion of sustainable development that enhances the community.
In this position, you will report directly to the Coordinator of Development Assessment (Fast Track), working closely with them to ensure efficient processing of development applications and the application of best practices in planning assessment.
