First Nations targeted role About the Opportunity: City of Darwin's Assertive Outreach Team provides outreach services to vulnerable people in public places who may be experiencing homelessness. Assertive Outreach Officers work in collaboration with existing local service providers to strengthen service access and outcomes.
The role of Assertive Outreach Officers is to :
Undertake proactive outreach with vulnerable people sleeping rough in public spaces.Foster trusting, culturally safe relationshipsTake a harm minimisation approach.Provide brief and early intervention to reduce risk and promote safety Provide referral pathways and access to external providers.Work with Public Places Rangers and other Government and non-Government organisations to address issues within public places.Undertake data collection, regularly evaluate service outcomes and report service gaps.Follow safe work practices when undertaking outreach activities. To be considered for this role, you will have: Certificate II in Community Services or similar qualifications and/or equivalent qualifications and/or a minimum of three (3) years' experience in a similar role.Class C Drivers Licence NT Working With Children Check.Ability to obtain a National Police Records CheckFirst Aid Certification or ability to obtain prior to employmentWhy join us? Your hard work will be rewarded with a competitive remuneration package and generous leave entitlements. This position has a commencing base salary of $81,784.36 per annum plus superannuation.
