$67,642 pa (includes industry allowance and uniform allowance) + 12% super + leave loadingQld Local Government Industry Award (Stream B) - Level 3 of the EBA5 9 day fortnight 76 hour fortnight Join our Roads and Drains team and take on a vital role in one of our asphalt crews. In this hands-on position, you'll contribute to essential road maintenance and repair operations, ensuring the safety and quality of our local infrastructure.
Your key responsibilities will include:
performing road remediation tasks including edge repairs, road failure rectification and pothole patchingoperating a variety of hand tools and mechanical equipmenthandling asphalt truck operations and assisting with driving duties as neededWe are focused on delivering on our corporate values of Service, Teamwork, Integrity, Respect and Sustainability, and we are seeking people who resonate with these values.
Please note - this position is internally titled "Labourer Operations". About you Ideally you will have demonstrated recent experience in road maintenance or construction. We'll also need you to have:
a current truck licence (medium rigid - MR class or higher)a Construction Induction card - or willingness to obtain prior to commencementability to proficiently use hand tools and mechanical equipment as relevant to the positionstrong teamwork abilities and a collaborative mindsetsolid communication skills to effectively communicate with othersSafety is a key priority for us as an organisation, and we will be seeking candidates who not only have the knowledge and physical ability to safely undertake the manual tasks required in this role, but also a genuine desire to contribute to a positive safety culture.
