About the Company Aspect Personnel is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a leading Town Planning, Urban Design, and Landscape Architecture consultancy located in Brisbane. The Role We are seeking an experienced Urban Designer to join a growing Brisbane team and lead the Urban Design function. With the support of Project Directors and the larger Melbourne office, you will play a key role in shaping urban design projects for loyal clients across diverse sectors. This role offers significant career development, autonomy, and the chance to take ownership of projects from conception to delivery.
From day one, you will be involved in a variety of master planning projects including residential subdivision, urban redevelopment, and mixed-use commercial. You will work closely with Town Planners and assist in all stages of the master planning and development process, with a particular focus in assisting in the design and delivery of medium to large-scale subdivisions.
Responsibilities Develop overall master plans for subdivisions, including lot arrangement, street layout, and integration of amenities. Conduct site evaluations to understand physical, environmental, and social factors influencing the design. Ensure designs comply with Brisbane's planning policies, zoning regulations, and environmental guidelines. Communicate and collaborate with clients, councils, and community members to incorporate feedback and requirements. Incorporate sustainable features into the design, such as green spaces, water-sensitive designs, and energy-efficient planning. About You The ideal candidate will have:
Circa 5+ years of urban design experience in the local market working on similar projects would be ideal. Strong commercial acumen and a results-driven approach. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Adaptability and resilience in a dynamic environment. Proficiency in design software such as Illustrator, CAD, Sketchup as well as 3D software would be advantageous. Why Join Us?
