Southern Adelaide Local Health Network – Noarlunga – Mental HealthSalary $85,790 -$95,413 (Pro Rata) ASO5 | Full Time – 8 month contract available.Seeking a Lived Experience Project Officer to join our Noarlunga Mental Health Inpatient Rehab Unit Project team! As an Aboriginal Project Officer in Health and Mental Health, you will spearhead initiatives to strengthen the Aboriginal workforce within SALHN's Mental Health Services, focusing on rehabilitation services. Your expertise will contribute to establishing Aboriginal practitioner roles within the soon to be established inpatient rehabilitation unit as well existing rehabilitation units like the Trevor Parry Centre, potentially involving direct work with Aboriginal residents. Additionally, you will play a key role in developing a statewide training and orientation package for the Mental Health Rehabilitation workforce and broader MHS staff.
About the role: Reporting to the Allied Health Director (Mental Health) and the Director Aboriginal Health Strategic Policy and Projects, some of your duties as the Aboriginal Project Officer may involve:
Identifying consumer, community and service needs and gaps in the development and implementation of the Aboriginal Workforce in the MH Rehabilitation stream and more broadly across MHS.Delivering a range of efficient and effective functions to support the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of initiatives and projects which maximise the involvement of consumers in the planning and development of SA mental health services.Facilitating Aboriginal community engagement.About you: Demonstrated ability to liaise, consult and engage in a culturally sensitive manner with the Aboriginal community, individuals and families with proven commitment to improving outcomes for Aboriginal people.Proven experience with scoping, planning, implementing, managing and evaluating projects within allocated timeframes.Experience in community engagement and participation, with a particular focus on consumers. Working in partnership with government agencies and community groups to deliver mutual outcomes.Experience in the preparation of reports, briefings, and correspondence of some complexity.Experience in development of education and training resources.Application Closing Date: 11.55 pm Sunday 5 January 2025
