The Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) team within MD builds and deploys machine-learning systems at scale.
They work with data scientists and other engineers to bring cutting-edge machine learning projects to production.
At the ASD6 level, you must demonstrate significant experience in the below areas or related fields and possess well-developed technical skills.
It is expected that you will lead bodies of work.
As a Machine Learning (ML) Engineer at ASD, you can expect to:
Design, develop, and sustain MLOps platforms tailored for ASD applications.
Implement, oversee, and resolve issues related to machine-learning models in live production settings.
Create and execute MLOps pipelines for the deployment of machine-learning models into production.
Comprehend, advocate for, and advance the organisation's vision, mission, and business goals.
Evaluate and enhance the performance of machine-learning code in production.
Utilize open-source technologies and contemporary computing infrastructures.
Recognise the work environment and proactively establish team objectives, strategies, and action plans.
Collaborate with fellow engineers to guarantee effective integration with enterprise software systems.
Partner with data scientists to ensure thorough testing and reliability of machine-learning models.
Remain informed about the latest advancements in machine learning technologies and industry best practices.
Establish clear plans and timeframes for project implementation.
Respond in a positive and flexible manner to change and uncertainty.
The Mission Data (MD) Division within the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) is responsible for providing the foundational data capabilities to support all of ASD's functions.
We do this via the provision of data platforms and services, management of ASD's mission data, and providing complex analytic development and support, including Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning capabilities.
All roles within MD require extensive knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making, and Defence's mission and policies requirements.
