Full time Salary Package: $98,346 - $110,887 (plus Super) Positions are available within ASD's Information Security Branch's Advice and Assessment, and Continuous Assurance teams.
As an ASD6 Continuous Assurance Analyst you will be hands-on in identifying existing and emerging vulnerabilities and threats, in addition to providing guidance to application/service owners on effective remediation and assessment of the risk across ASD's systems.
A role in either team would involve: Analysing and assessing ICT system security configuration and documentation; Developing ICT security best practice guidance, threat models, risk assessments, and educational campaigns; Performing technical assessments, asset discovery, and vulnerability management across ASD's information technology environment; Providing timely ICT security advice to the workforce and leadership; Researching new and emerging technologies.
The duties of an ASD6 Continuous Assurance Analyst in the Australian Signals Directorate include the following: Accountable to conduct complex security risk assessments and provide advice and guidance on the application and operation of technical and administrative security controls.
Understand the security features and capabilities of cyber security hardware and software products, providing advice to stakeholders on their implementation and use.
Provide complex specialist advice to explain systems security and the strengths and weaknesses.
Tailor communication style and language for stakeholders and customers to provide guidance on security strategies to manage identified risks.
Facilitate appropriate direction for the team by clearly communicating goals and objectives.
Interpret security policy and contribute to the development of standards and guidelines that comply with the Australian Signals Directorate policy and procedures.
Actively maintain knowledge in one or more identifiable specialisms and provide detailed and specific advice regarding the application of their specialism(s) to the organisation's planning and operations.
Review information system designs for weaknesses in security operations procedures and potential breaches in security.
Build and sustain effective working relationships with team members and actively participate in teamwork and group activities.
ASD's Information Security Branch is responsible for safeguarding the ASD's most sensitive information across all of its Information Technology (IT) systems through the implementation of the Australian Government Information Security Manual's four cyber security principles: Govern, Protect, Detect and Respond.
