We are a seeking enthusiastic, passionate and experienced educator to support the wellbeing of boarders in one of four boarding houses. At Ascham, the Boarding Coordinator works as a member of the Boarding team which promotes teamwork, integrity and professionalism.

This position has primary responsibility for ensuring the wellbeing of the Boarders and the smooth running of a Boarding House.
We are seeking a highly organised person to supervise students in one of the School's four boarding houses. This is apermanent part-time role during Term time only of approximately 22 hours per week.This position incorporates evening and weekend work as well as pre-term set up and end of term close-down.
This position may suit an individual with a background in teaching or adolescent health. This is a Boarding Staff Level 2position as classified under the Independent Schools NSW (Support and Operational Staff) Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2021.The role will commence in January 2025. Duties and responsibilities of this role include: Work with the Head of House and undertake such duties as are required for the smooth running of the boarding house Work with the Head of House to oversee the physical, social and emotional welfare of each student. Help oversee weekend activities for the house, in conjunction with other staff as required Creating a warm, positive and safe home away from home for boarders by dealing with and providing timely responses to the day-to-day and pastoral needs of boarders and their families Ensure documentation is kept up to date, including maintaining the online leave system Work with the Head of House and Head of Boarding to ensure the safety and security of the students in the house at all times Implement policies of the school as required Be a good role model for students Support the students in the house by attendance at school functions and events as appropriate Sleepover in the boarding house overnight and be on call for emergencies during term time as outlined in the roster. A sleepover allowance is provided in accordance with the Award. To be successful you will possess : Relevant qualifications or experiencegained from working with young people,preferable girls, in teaching, nursing orother youth-relatedactivities A thorough appreciation of and commitment to the boarders and their families and an understanding of their individual requirements, development needs and their ongoing pastoral care needs Exceptional interpersonal skills and commitment to positive relationships and professional communication with all stakeholders The ability to work collaboratively in a small team with an adaptable and proactive approach to all duties Excellent understanding and interest in contemporary issues in adolescent wellbeing and development Advanced computer literacy, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and databases The successful applicant will enjoy: The experience of working in a supportive and successful school Support for continuous learning and development Please apply via Seek with your cover letter, CV (please include WWCC and First Aid details) and the names and contact details of three referees by11:59pm, Sunday 15December 2024.
