The Arts Support Worker role is to provide person centred support to adult artists and other participants in the workplace, which enhances their quality of life and creates workplace solutions that are flexible and innovative while generating income for People we Support and the organisation.
Experience and skills in fine art are desirable.
Duties of an Arts Support Worker are: Assisting in the day-to-day activities in the Bindi Enterprises art departments and other programs and motivating the people we supportImplement individual and group programs that assist people to develop artistic and creative skillsLiaise with stakeholders such as NDIS and Support Coordinators to ensure best outcomes for the people we supportUse SAM Database to prepare consignments for galleries, archive artworks and process salesAssist in documenting and cataloguing artworks ready for saleAssist curating and hanging exhibitionsTake customer sales over the phone, email, in the gallery and or at art fairsPrepare and maintain art materialsAssist in marketing and promotion of the Bindi Enterprises programs and productsCreate a workplace environment that reflects the needs, culture and aspiration of the people we supportBe prepared to assist with personal care needsActively participate in team meetings and work closely with the Supervisors and other Art Support WorkersMake It Matter -What you will bring to make a difference in other's lives We're looking for a people-person, an individual with exceptional interpersonal skills with a real passion for supporting people in the community!
Previous experience supporting people with a disability and/or challenging behaviour, preferably in an education or employment environmentKnowledge of local community networks, training and employment opportunitiesBackground in the visual arts sector and experience working cross culturallyDemonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and relate well to people we support and their familiesComputer literate with competent administration and documentation skillsFirst Aid certificate,NDIS Workers Clearance and full unrestricted driver's licenceCertificate III/IV in Disabilities, Community Services, Social Sciences, Youth Work will be highly regarded although not essentialDegree or similar qualification or experience in Fine Arts is preferredSome of the areas you may work in as an Arts Support Worker are:
