We are seeking an experienced and passionate Instrumental Tutor to join the CAPTIVATE team on a permanent part-time basis.
Woodwind Tutor - 2 days per week (Commencing in 2025) CAPTIVATE is the creative and performing arts program for catholic schools within the Diocese of Parramatta.
We provide learning and performance opportunities for students and connect them with Australia's leading creative arts professionals and their wealth of experience and networks.
About the Role: The Instrumental Tutor undertakes the following responsibilities: Provide instrument-specific teaching to students both in small groups and, where requested, individually on a weekly basis both during school time and before or after school depending on spacing availability and student timetables.
Provide regular feedback to students and biannual reports to parents.
Provide instrument-specific knowledge to develop ensembles in both rehearsal and performance before and after school.
Provide instrument-specific knowledge to support the work of the Specialist Teacher in the delivery of classroom-based programs on a weekly basis during school time (band & string specialists only) Willingness and ability to deliver the classroom program when the assigned Specialist Teacher is away (band & string specialists only) Lead ensembles and workshops under the guidance of the Specialist Teacher both during school time and after school.
Provide assessment, maintenance and cleaning, tagging and logging of instruments.
About You: To be successful you will demonstrate alignment to our purpose and values, together with: Sound understanding of the learning environments, lesson plans, use of technology, teaching practices and delivery of assessment and learning feedback Demonstrated ability to work creatively and constructively to support diverse need Qualifications and accreditations: Relevant demonstrated experience Working with Children Check clearance Interested?
The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child-related employment including the completion of a National Police Check, retention of a valid Working with Children Check and adoption and compliance with CSPD's Child Safeguarding Procedures and Code of Conduct When Working with Students and Children.
