The Role: To meet our growing demands, we are looking for a Manager Cost and Estimating to join our team.
Reporting to the General Manager Project Controls , the purpose of the role is to develop estimates, monitor and forecast project costs, lead the change management process, and provide cost management guidance to ensure projects are completed within budgetary constraints. The role collaborates with project teams, procurement specialists, and other stakeholders to optimize costs while maintaining quality and adherence to project schedules.
This is a Brisbane-based position and will require occasional travel to our field operations as required, with plenty of notice.
In addition, you will: Demonstrate a personal commitment to consistently role model Arrow's values, code of conduct, safety, and the environment. Establish positive and productive working relationships with key stakeholders. Model inclusive behaviours to create a safe environment where different views and perspectives are encouraged and valued. Develop comprehensive cost estimates for projects, considering all relevant factors, including labour, materials, equipment, and indirect costs. Evaluate vendor bids and proposals to ensure cost competitiveness and alignment with project budgets. Establish and manage project budgets in collaboration with project managers and other stakeholders. Monitor project costs regularly to ensure adherence to approved budgets and identify any budget deviations. Implement progress measurement processes to progress Engineering, Procurement, and Construction activities and generate Incurred Cost information. Generate regular cost reports, providing stakeholders with insights into project financial performance. Lead a team of cost controllers and administrators, providing guidance, training, and support to foster their professional growth. About You You will demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills along with the ability to contribute to a high-performing team with a second-to-none focus on safety and integrity.
To be considered for this role, you will ideally have: Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field. Proven experience managing a Project Controls function including cost engineering and cost estimating. In-depth knowledge of cost estimation methodologies, cost control techniques, and project management principles. Proficiency in using cost estimating software and tools. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret complex data and make informed decisions. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
