The APS 6 Technical Officer – Explosive Ordnance (EO) Armaments will undertake a variety of armament engineering tasks in order to support Army Aviation Rotary Wing platforms. This role will be able to work in a high functioning team environment to conduct minor projects, sustainment engineering and work with cutting edge Armament and EO systems.
Routine tasks include weapon certification, platform integration, orders, instructions and publications (OIP) development, risk assessments, Directorate of Ordnance Safety compliance and providing Subject Matter Expert (SME) armament advice.
About our Team The Army Aviation Systems Branch (AASB) purpose is to deliver military aviation systems to the capability managers. AASB is responsible for the acquisition and through-life support of all Army helicopters and tactical unmanned aerial systems through both Project Offices (PO) and Systems Program Offices (SPO) within Australia and overseas.

Our Ideal Candidate Our ideal candidate for this role is someone who is able to work independently, but also as part of a team and is highly motivated. The candidate will have a good understanding of the Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) Explosive Ordnance Assurance Plan (EOAP) and the explosive safety regulatory framework (ESRF) and the ability to apply discretion in an engineering system. This person needs to be able to quickly pick up and learn new skills and seek continuous improvement.
