This role will require frequent travel between the Y NT's locations and centres throughout Alice Springs, Katherine and Darwin.This position is responsible for promoting a culture that is aligned to the Y Northern Territory's Mission and Values, promoting and ensuring compliance of policies and procedures and the ensuring compliance with National Quality Framework.The Y Northern Territory provides a supportive and inclusive work environment, employees are valued and respected for their skills and commitment to quality early childhood education and care are supported through career development progression, planning and opportunities.When you join the Y Northern Territory, you become part of a passionate community of like-minded individuals who are inspired to make a positive impact in the lives of young children.5 Weeks Annual LeaveRelocation support available for the successful candidateAccess to the recreation facilities we manageDiscounted rates at Y Childcare CentresConfidential Employee Assistance ProgramAccess to ongoing development and trainingKey ResponsibilitiesProvide operational support to Centre Directors and OSHC Coordinators to ensure operational excellence and compliance.Support quality practice improvements through fostering a culture of continuous improvement that aligns with all aspects of the National Quality Standards.Monitor compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements, including mandatory reporting requirements.Monitor compliance with the Y Northern Territory's policies, procedures and Safeguarding licensing standards.Manage the day-to-day supervision of allocated Children Services portfolio.Support governance and compliance through assessment and ratings, Territory Family investigations, internal processes and notifications.Advocate for services within designated portfolio to provide leadership to establish strong partnerships and networks with local services to maximise outcomes for children and families.Work with Centre Directors and Coordinators to improve practices, programs and address any issues/themes identified through quality compliance framework.Contribute to financial performance monitoring, management and oversight of Centres within portfolio.Lead a team of Directors and Coordinators, driving culture, staff training, learning and development and responding to staff grievances.Support Directors and Coordinators in their quality and risk management, including compliance with national legislation, licensing regulations, risk and emergency management plans.About you:Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education or related discipline.Ability to frequently travel between the Y NT's locations and centres throughout Alice Springs, Katherine and Darwin.Demonstrated experience and sound knowledge of National Quality Framework.A minimum of 3 years' experience in a leadership position within Early Childhood Services.Strong understanding and knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety practices.Well-developed communication and time management skills and the ability maintain rapport with persons from all levels within the organisation.Sound experience complying with Licensing Regulations, National Quality Standard as well as organisational Policies and Procedures.Current First Aid and CPR qualifications (HLTAID003 or higher).Mandatory RequirementsA national criminal history check;An international criminal history check where applicants have worked overseas;Holding or obtaining a Working with Children Clearance/equivalent in accordance with Territory laws;Two reference checks.Any successfully appointed applicant will be required to adhere to the Safeguarding Children and Young People framework, which includes a thorough safeguarding children and young people induction and a commitment to upholding the safety and wellbeing of children and young people throughout their engagement with YMCA.If you are ready to join the Y Northern Territory please apply via Seek and include a cover letter, addressed to Michelle Dolby, outlining your suitability for the role.The Y NT reserves the right to conclude this process before the scheduled close date.
