The position also entails acting as the primary decision-maker for all projects within delegated authority.The Area Maintenance Manager will also be responsible for:Acting as the 'Client's Representative' by providing input on all allocated projects on the State road network, as required. Delegated authority is from the Director Assets.Assisting with developing the forward maintenance and safety program (including specific projects) for pavement and corridor infrastructure by developing maintenance strategies as informed by analysing and interpreting asset inventory, condition, history, treatment options, cost, road safety inspections, and other relevant information.Scoping pavement and corridor maintenance projects and preparing project briefs for issue to regional development and delivery teams.Ensuring the maintenance programs are delivered per TfNSW safety, standards and environmental management requirements by monitoring and reporting progress, including monitoring, forecasting and budgeting, evaluating project completion performance and implementing corrective actions.Providing high-level technical advice on the design and evaluation of pavements, safety solutions, wearing surfaces, earthworks, drainage and roadside issues for pavement and corridor projects, including participation in project teams to ensure consistency and a whole of life approach to asset management is adopted across the Region.This is a fixed term full-time role (up to 30 June 2025) which can be based in either Grafton, Newcastle, Singleton or Tuggerah. This role will require some travel throughout the Upper Hunter region. Flexible, hybrid working arrangements are available upon negotiation.About youTo be considered for this role you will have a four-year civil engineering degree qualification from an Australian University or equivalent overseas qualification and/or relevant University qualifications and experience.You are an experienced Project Manager, with a strong pavement, drainage and corridor maintenance background as well as demonstrated experience in the management, development and delivery of road safety, rehabilitation, and construction projects.You have experience in pavement design and familiarity with slope stability programs of work as well as experience in the technical aspects of materials and equipment.You are resilient, work well under pressure, and can manage multiple priorities. You have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.You possess a current and valid Australian motor vehicle driver license and be willing to work outside regular working hours and travel on occasion.
