We are a Melbourne based group of architects and designers working in a collaborative, open forum. Having secured several significant projects, we are looking for an architect or experienced architectural technician who will work within our project team, linking our design agenda with the efficient execution of each component. You will be part of the larger studio and provided with coaching and support to enable your success.
The role will have an emphasis on the briefing, scoping, design, documentation, coordination and delivery of larger scale and complex projects.
To give you a taste for the role, you will be responsible for:
Attending meetings with clients to understand the methodology and scope of the projectUnderstanding the project brief and contractPreparing preliminary architectural drawingsAssisting in the preparation of documentation packages and construction detailed drawingsPlanning and design of buildings, including brainstorming ideas, and design drawingsPresenting ideas and recommendations to clients alongside a Project Leader or PrincipalCoordinating consultants and contractors including attending meetings, reviewing & updating drawingsInspecting project sites to make sketches, take measurements and photographs, and document actual site conditions to aid in developing the final architectural design solutionUtilising documentation programs to update and monitor progress of projects from early project phases through to construction documentation including but not limited, drawings, schedules, design diaries and defect reportsCoordinating applicable services to the projectWorking with team members, consultants, and contractors to meet deadlinesWorking with the rest of the business to establish and maintain key contactsWhat you can bring to the table:
Qualification in Architecture (Bachelor or Masters) or relevant experienceHighly regarded: registration with the Architects Registration Board of Victoria, or equivalent overseas registrationMinimum two years experience in complex projectsStrong proficiency in RevitSome proficiency in RhinoSkilled in AutoCADProficient in the Adobe SuiteExperience using the Microsoft Office SuiteDeep knowledge of the principles, practices, and procedures of architectureDeep knowledge of building materials, their function and physical propertiesAbility to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with clients, consultants and other external stakeholdersStrong and clear communication skills, both written and verbalExceptional organisation and time management skillsWhy work for NH Architecture?We pride ourselves on our excellent studio culture.
