About the Opportunity Hudson Homes is looking for a full-time Draftsperson based in Beenleigh, QLD. Reporting to the Drafting & Design Manager, this role involves preparing high-quality architectural drawings and documentation while liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure full building approval.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Providing drafting requirements to create accurate working drawings for Tender, Preliminary Plans, Permit Plans, and Construction Plans Communicating and liaising with external consultants, including councils, private certifiers, engineers, and surveyors to ensure timely processing of tasks Attending to processes and procedures required to obtain full building approval for construction projects Assisting with checking plans, assessing conditions of approval, and addressing issues during the approval process Supporting the Customer Experience team with 3D Plan Presentations Adhering to Hudson Homes' best practice approach to all procedures You will work closely with our team of experienced Draftspersons covering all facets of the business, with opportunities to specialise in various areas.

About You To qualify, you will need a Diploma in Building Design or a relevant design qualification, along with proficiency in Archicad and a minimum of 3 years experience in a volume building role. Experience in custom building is a significant advantage due to the variety of work involved.

Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

A postgraduate qualification Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and standards Experience liaising with councils, certifiers, and other external consultants Ability to produce accurate and detailed working drawings Familiarity with the house-building process and approval procedures As our ideal candidate, you are forward-thinking, possess good reasoning skills, and have a problem-solving mindset. You should also demonstrate software efficiency and the ability to challenge the norm by finding innovative solutions.
