About the Team Xero's 'Catalyst Engineering' portfolio is our platform engineering and developer enablement function, responsible for powering Xero's engineers and our Partner Ecosystem with the platforms and toolchains to rapidly build innovative, robust and secure products that meet the needs of Xero's customers. About the Role We are looking for an Architect to be responsible for the developer enablement arm of Catalyst Engineering. In this role you will work closely with Product and Engineering leaders to define strategic roadmaps for our engineering enablement capabilities, ensuring that they are fit for purpose for the rapidly changing needs of the engineers that they support. You will work with product architects and engineers to drive the adoption of our capabilities. Internal to the team you will bring the leadership, customer obsession and technical depth required to build strong working relationships with your product and engineering counterparts. We're looking for people who have many of the below skills in their toolbox. If you don't tick every box right now but believe you can grow into the role, we'd love to speak to you What you'll bring with you You've worked as an Architect or Principal Engineer in a Cloud Platform Engineering function and ideally a Developer Enablement function. You've built developer tooling that streamlines the continuous delivery of cloud-based software and might have implemented an internal developer portal You understand API management and Event-based integration and might have worked on them You can translate between high-level business strategy to an actionable roadmap for your area of responsibility You know AWS well along with one of GCP or Azure. You have a software engineering background and are willingness to dive into technical detail when it matters You are aware of domain-driven design and how it is applied in the integration of complex data driven, customer-facing systems. You've worked in fast-moving agile environments. You understand the information security, risk management, data privacy and compliance considerations in the software development lifecycle You have great listening, problem-solving, communication and coaching skills Most importantly, you have a desire to learn and grow yourself and others.
