The Principal, Richard Thompson, commenced his careerwith the Victorian Employers' Federation (now VECCI) from 1989 to 1994 as Senior Industrial Relations Advisor responsible for Local Government, Public Utilities, Health, Community Services and Education industry sectors.After completinghis law degree he workedat TelstraApplied Technologies asCorporate& Commercial Lawyerin the Major Procurement and InfrastructureDivision.He joinedPhillips Fox (now DLA Piper) and then Minter Ellisonasa lawyerbefore being admitted to the Victorian Bar in 1999.After his time as a barrister he joined Lander & Rogers as Senior Associate before being made a partner andthen Managing Partner(Vic.) at Norton White, a specialist shipping and aviationfirm. Richard wasHead of Employment& Workplace Relations (Corporate & Commercial)at Wisewould Mahony before starting Archer Thompson.
He has a Graduate Diploma Labour Law (University of Melbourne), Graduate Diploma Legal Practice (College of Law, Sydney), LLB (Bond University), International Trade Law (Leiden University, The Netherlands).
