The Opportunity: Urbis is growing and we are excited to offer new opportunities within our Sydney Archaeology Team as part of the National Heritage Team.
We have an opportunity for 2 x Archaeology Consultants to join our team and take part in this exciting new phase.
In this role you will demonstrate an understanding of Archaeology and Heritage principles and relevant legislative requirements to undertake a range of tasks independently and as directed, in relation to the day-to-day operation and management of work in the Heritage team.
This includes having the ability to contribute to both historic and Aboriginal archaeology, field work within the Sydney basin as well as regional areas, preparation of high-quality archaeological assessments and advice to clients.
You will be: Contributing to practical, technical and strategic advice on a range of archaeology and heritage subjects.Undertaking consultation and fieldwork – in accordance with the relevant guidelines and protocols under the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Act 1974 and the Heritage Act 1977.Demonstrating high level research, interpretation, report writing and communication skills.Working across a wide range of applications with an ability to contribute to proposals, tenders & submissions for potential projects.Assisting in the undertaking of projects, client and other stakeholder relationships and work to specification and deadlines.About You: Tertiary qualifications in archaeology, anthropology, cultural heritage management or similar subject.Demonstrates an understanding of and ability to apply statutory heritage legislation, principles and the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1974 (NPW Act), and the NSW Heritage Act 1977 (Heritage Act) to resolve and advise on projects.Demonstrates an understanding in preparing relevant assessments under the NPW Act and the Heritage Act.Ability to undertake archaeology research utilising multiple sources and methodologies to present accurate preliminary assessment of findings.Ability to undertake fieldwork in every part of NSW.Relevant experience in the archaeology industry is preferable.Why Urbis?
