Arborist Technician An opportunity exists for motivated, enthusiastic and passionate arborists to join our team!

Location: Maroochydore

Type: Permanent Full-time

Salary: $76K Total Remuneration Package ($68K Base Salary + CWA)

About the Role Council's Parks and Gardens Branch require two Arborist Technicians to undertake all aspects of tree work for both internal and external clients.

You will assist the Arboricultural Services Leader as a member of the Arboricultural Services Team responsible for the care, management, and operation of public open space and recreational areas.

This role has a strong safety focus with the operation of various plant, machinery, and tools. The incumbent will have a passion for environmental issues in our diverse coastal and hinterland environment.

A primary focus will entail the safe operation of a wood chipper and truck, as well as the removal and disposal of debris and green waste.

You will support and actively participate in a team approach to learning and development through upgrading technical knowledge and ongoing training on policies, practices, and procedures, including legislative requirements.

On a daily basis, you will coordinate maintenance records, including run sheets, costing details, and timesheets.

About You The successful candidate will be experienced in an arboricultural role, ideally within a local government environment.

Your comprehensive knowledge and understanding of materials, plant, and equipment used in street and neighbour park tree maintenance is essential.

You are well versed in communicating verbally and in writing, and you can work cooperatively with internal and external customers on site. Managing your time effectively is pivotal in this position, including setting and meeting priorities, deadlines, and self-organising workloads.

Physical agility and the level of fitness, strength, and dexterity to carry out laboring and frequent heavy lifting and bending are essential. Appointment to this position is subject to completion of a pre-employment medical assessment.
