About the Opportunity Join our Operations team to enhance and protect the Shire's tree assets through expert arboriculture advice and project management. This role is pivotal in developing and implementing innovative tree policies and continuous improvement projects for tree management.
You will make an impact by Actively managing the tree planting program, including capital programs, developer bond planting, and operational planting, along with budget management and auditing. Supporting the development and implementation of maintenance strategies, policies, procedures, and programs for vegetation management, ensuring compliance with service levels. Managing and overseeing external contractors, keeping the Team Leader informed of work progress and processing contractor payments. Resolving on-site issues and authorising corrective actions within delegated authority. Providing specialist advice and high-level reports on Council tree matters to internal and external stakeholders. What you will bring Australian Qualifications Framework Level 5 (Diploma) tertiary qualification in Arboriculture or related discipline. Tree Risk Assessment qualification, or willing to attain either the Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) or Quantified Tree Risk Assessment (QTRA). Cert II ESI for Assessors stream qualification, or willing to attain. Experience in project supervision and contract management of arboriculture works or equivalent within the public realm. Demonstrated knowledge in indigenous and exotic tree identification. Extensive experience in arboriculture and tree management. Experience managing and overseeing external contractors.
