Apunipima Cape York Health Council is a community controlled Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health service, which provides culturally appropriate, family centred, primary health care services to the communities and people of Cape York.
About the role The Administration Officer - Office of the Chief Executive supports the role of the Executive Assistant to the Chief Executive Officer in the provision of effective and efficient administrative services.
This position is identified where, under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander community. About You
To be successful in this role you must have:
Experience providing administrative support in a medium to large organisation Demonstrated high ethical standards in performing duties, whilst maintaining confidentiality and discretion Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities Sound interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships Understanding of the historical and contemporary issues that impact on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their communities, particularly in Cape York Demonstrated understanding of the principles of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community control Ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in accordance with community protocols and customs Must be willing and have the ability to travel in Cape York either by light aircraft or 4WD as required It is desirable that the successful candidate holds a Certificate IV in Business Administration Mandatory Requirements: Australian Federal Police Check Current Queensland Drivers Licence Current Blue Card positive notice or exemption, or willing and able to obtain prior to commencement What We Offer: Competitive salary range - $72,624 - $80,693 + 11.5% superannuation contribution Modern facilities and resources 5 weeks annual leave & 17.5% leave loading Generous salary packaging of up to $15,900 per year Induction, professional development and learning opportunities EAP program Our Culture Apunipima, meaning "united - all in one" in Injinoo Ikya, was conceived at Pajinka near Injinoo at the tip of Cape York.
