The team specialises in managing external and internal communication across three portfolios: strategic, corporate, and internal communications. IP Australia promotes its activities via multiple communication channels. To support this work, IP Australia is seeking an experienced and professional Senior Communications Adviser to work closely with subject matter experts to coordinate a range of media and communication activities for our organisation. As a Senior Communications Adviser, you will develop and implement effective and engaging communications plans and content for external audiences. You will draft and edit complex information to create easy-to-understand materials that meet government accessibility standards. You will provide business areas with advice and support on communications activities and will provide media, social media, and stakeholder management expertise. The role requires a well-organised professional who is capable of juggling multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment.Position DutiesAs a Senior Communication Adviser, you will: Work as part of a small team to develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate engaging media and communication strategies and plansWork with subject matter experts to create and deliver strategic, compelling communications, media and social media contentProvide writing and editing support for communications across multiple channels including social mediaApply the APS Style Guide and our 'tone of voice' guidance to written comms, to ensure consistency in our language styleProvide social media and media advice on strategy and reputation management, manage media monitoring, and respond to media requests in a timely mannerWrite, edit, publish and pitch proactive media releasesFacilitate media interviews including briefings, talking points and assisting SMEs with media preparationDevelop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders including other Australian government agencies Be flexible and adapt to changing priorities, and resilient and engaged when asked to adopt new practicesEstablish clear expectations and creates an environment to achieve stated goals and objectives, takes ownership and honours commitmentsMaintain an understanding of their/worker responsibilities under the Work Health & Safety Act 2011 (WHS Act) and a commitment to promoting a healthy and safe workplace.
