$76,277 - $104,753 + up to 15.4% Superannuation Edinburgh - SA, Fishermans Bend - VIC The Role As part of the Digital Research Networks and Storage team, you will provide specialist technical expertise and administration of a range of networking and cybersecurity technologies, including next-generation firewalls (NGFW).
The position is responsible for administering, managing and supporting DSTG's highly specialised research networks including gateways, firewalls, routers, switches on both WAN and LAN.
Key Duties:  Network administration - installation, implementation configuration of various networking devices and platforms.
Assist with project build and deliverables of new network initiatives and capabilities to support research.
Analyse monitoring data and network performance and reporting.
Supporting, troubleshooting, diagnose and restoration of network faults and issues.
Planning, implementation and monitoring of network security best practices and capabilities.
Support the creation of and upkeep of detailed network documentation and network standards.
Provide expertise in the specialised field of Network Engineering and a broader application of ICT domain knowledge.
About our Team The Digital Research Infrastructure (DRI) team, as part of the wider Scientific Computing (SC) branch, enables and accelerates Defence science and technology research and protects assets in DSTG's digital research environments.
SC does this by provisioning and supporting scientific computing infrastructure that is well managed, sustainable and scalable; continuing to invest in innovative centralised digital research infrastructure and services, while divesting commodity distributed ICT infrastructure and services; and developing new Scientific Computing practices and technologies.
The DRI directorate provides secure, effective and efficient digital research and eResearch infrastructure and related systems where a sovereign capability is required for Defence's S&T capabilities.
Our Ideal Candidate Our ideal candidate will have experience in: Cisco Routing and switching  Designing and implementing Cisco network solutions  Configuring and supporting Cisco network equipment ranging from Campus edge to data centre core technologies Physical installation of hardware including physical patching Palo Alto Next Gen Firewall policies and Panorama management tool Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance firewall policies Fault diagnosis and resolution Various Load Balancing technologies Network access control configuration and design Cisco Identity Service Engine (Cisco ISE) Cisco Digital Network Architecture (Cisco DNA) Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (Cisco ACI)  VMWare NSX (desirable) Some experience or exposure to on premise cloud technologies Information Pack Opens in new window
