$91,702 - $104,753 + up to 15.4% Superannuation Darwin - NT The Role The APS 6 Work Health and Safety Officer will be required to: Ensure Headquarters 1st Brigade (1 BDE) compliance with Commonwealth Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation, and Defence policies.
Provide specialist WHS advice to the command personnel and WHS representatives.
Conduct WHS audits.
Report on and manage the corrective actions on the outcomes of all WHS audits – internal and external.
Implement all audit recommendations and regulatory requirements (includes COMCARE and DRSA).
Providing safety management support to training, exercises, operations and other activities.
Represent 1 BDE at Safety Committee meetings.
Promote a positive WHS culture within Robertson Barracks, to include delivery of WHS training, review common trends and consulting with key stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.
Provide WHS Updates, reports and analytical data to support organisational activities and risk mitigation strategies.
Provide updates on unit workplaces, plant, equipment, materials or safety hazards.
Attend training and development to maintain WHS compliance and continual self-development to continual WHS knowledge, updates and understanding.
About our Team Headquarters 1st Brigade is a dynamic team environment that is responsible for commanding and coordinating Unit's within the Brigade.
The Brigade is currently undergoing an active Force Modernisation process that is seeing it transition to a Littoral Manoeuvre force to meet requirements of the Defence Strategic Review.
As a result, there is considerable change underway with the staff focusing on preparing for this new role.
The Brigade also conducts a considerable number of Security Engagement activities with regional partners.
This sees the Brigade both deploy personnel across the region and host members of foreign militaries for various exercises and activities.
The Brigade has a strong relationship with the US Marines through the regular rotation of Marine elements through the NT.
