The Team Leader - Digital Terminal Procedures reports to the EL 1 Production Manager to undertake work that is complex in nature, under limited direction, with the opportunity for reasonable autonomy and accountability.
Making effective use of expertise within the team, the Team Leader - Digital Terminal Procedures will be involved in providing technical, professional, and policy advice in support of strategic planning, program management, and policy development.
In addition, the Team Leader - Digital Terminal Procedures collaborates closely with other team leaders and stakeholders in a dynamic, time-sensitive environment to ensure AIS-AF delivers a seamless production process from sourcing aeronautical information through product compilation, to publication, and ultimately product distribution.
About our Team
The Team Leader - Digital Terminal Procedures leads a small team within Aeronautical Information Service - Air Force (AIS-AF), responsible for encoding terminal procedures for use in Australian Defence Force (ADF) flight management databases and generating navigation database products.
The role ensures that ADF mission planners and flight crew have access to up to date, relevant and accurate terminal procedures in digital format, for operations in Australia and abroad.
Our Ideal Candidate
As the ideal candidate, you will be highly analytical, detail oriented, and have a solid understanding of aviation/flight planning terminology, typically attained through relevant experience in an aviation related role and/or relevant aviation related studies.
You will demonstrate resilience, personal drive, and a focus on enabling others in support of Defence capability.You will have experience interpreting technical information relevant to international aviation standards, working collaboratively in a supportive team environment, participating in regular peer reviews of technical outputs, and using simple software (e.g.
Microsoft Access or Excel) for basic data queries.Experience in a technical aviation-related role (e.g.
aeronautical information management, instrument flight procedures design, air traffic control, flight operations etc.)
would be advantageous.Candidates who have completed an aviation-related STEM Degree are also encouraged to apply.
