As an APS 6 Senior Performance Analyst in PASG (which includes the Defence Major Projects report) your role will be to: undertake research, evidence collection and data analysis with a view to forming findings and making recommendations, and draft sections of the final audit report; evaluate government programs and administration in accordance with an approved plan and supervisor's directions; promote teamwork and a positive and productive team culture; supervise, mentor and support more junior staff; formulate audit work plans to achieve audit objectives and impact; research policy and legislative frameworks, past audits, parliamentary discussions on relevant matters, and other issues as relevant to the context of the audit; lead entity meetings relevant to your area of audit responsibility; use data searching tools to identify audit evidence and sound judgement to assess its value and form conclusions against the audit objective; prepare working papers, documentation and reports to the required quality standard, written in a clear, concise, evidenced and factual manner; and lead the presentation of your findings and evidence in audit workshops with the Auditor-General and other audit executives. Who we are looking for: A performance audit is like a research project, so we are looking for inquiring, detail-oriented people who love reading, developing a detailed understanding of a topic and logically presenting your results. To be successful in this role, you will have: strong analytical skills, with experience in gathering data and evaluating organisational performance; excellent communication skills, particularly with regards to report writing and building internal and external relationships; demonstrated representational skills; the ability to manage projects and meet audit milestones in required timeframes; strong interpersonal, teamwork and supervisory skills; attention to detail and well-developed critical reasoning skills.
