We are seeking HR leaders with case management experience to provide APS people policy advice and are committed to providing excellent customer service.
You will be accountable for the achievement of corporate objectives, compliance with legislative and governance requirements and driving best practice for the Australian Government.
In this role, you will be supporting APS employees and their supervisors to manage complex HR matters relating to performance, behaviour, mental health and wellbeing, change, conflict and other employment aspects.
Key activities include: Holistic management of complex people cases, integrating HR expertise to achieve appropriate HR outcomes for employees and managers.
Building manager capability through the development and implementation of people projects, presentations, strategies and initiatives to coach and enable managers to make informed HR decisions.
Partnering and stakeholder engagement, being proactive in growing and maintaining strong connections.
Provision of advice and strategies for employees and managers experiencing interpersonal conflict and/or unacceptable behaviour to support resolution.
Within this role you may be responsible for a small team.
There may also be a requirement to travel to other sites to perform work requirements and to meet with stakeholders.
We have a number of roles available across our National HR Services Team and will also look to develop a merit pool.
About our Team The National HR Services Team, within Defence People Group, provides complex HR case management across the employment lifecycle.
We work with customers to provide coaching and guidance to support the resolution of complex HR matters and provide advice and guidance on APS people policy and procedures.
The Team collaborate with colleagues across the people domain and more broadly across the Enabling groups to deliver integrated, customer focused solutions.

The successful applicant may be responsible for leading a small team, some of whom could be remote.
