About Our Client Our client is one of the larger Public Sector and Government departments. They have a team of over 100 in finance and work with some very interesting divisions within the Federal Government. The department is fast paced and high-tempo and you will engage with the EL2 on numerous occasions throughout the week. Job Description The APS 6 Senior Finance Officer will be responsible for Providing a range of financial and budget services (eg. Budget development, end-of-month reporting, forecasting); Undertaking financial analysis and reconciliation processes on a monthly basis. Providing financial advice within the Department Managing and co-ordinating month end processing i.e. accruals and journals; Liaising and engaging with internal clients. The ability to prioritise workload and manage a small team is essential as is the ability to accept and manage change. The Successful Applicant As an APS 6 Senior Finance Officer you will have strong financial capability and competence have excellent focus on client services have strong analytical and investigative skills be able to work under limited supervision and within a team be a skilled communicator be able to build/contribute to a highly productive working environment exemplify a high level of personal integrity, honesty and professional competence. You will be an Australian Citizen, ideally be based in Canberra and will have a minimum of baseline security clearance or the ability to gain it.
