We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Management/Governance Officers to join our team and play a critical role in governing and managing the organisation's data assets.
This is an exciting opportunity for professionals with expertise in data governance , agile project management , and policy analysis to make an impact across high-profile projects.
Key Responsibilities: Data Governance & Management: Ensure compliance with data governance standards and practices across the organisation.
Develop and maintain data governance documents, ensuring alignment with best practices.
Support the implementation of the Governance of Indigenous Data and contribute to high-profile initiatives.
Stakeholder Engagement & Support: Provide guidance to data stewards and other stakeholders on governance protocols, processes, and tools.
Manage and build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to enhance the agency's data governance maturity.
Data Management & Reporting: Register and manage data assets, data exchange records, and customer information control plans.
Maintain the data stewardship register and assist in managing data-related risks.
Project & Risk Management: Work closely with senior staff to support data governance projects and initiatives.
Contribute to business improvement strategies and manage competing priorities effectively.
Key Skills & Experience: Strong background in data governance , including metadata management, data exchange management, and policy development.
Experience in agile project management and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
Exceptional policy interpretation and writing skills .
Proven ability to engage stakeholders and build relationships across diverse teams.
Experience with high-profile projects and an understanding of how data governance impacts organisational objectives.
Ability to identify and manage data-related risks and contribute to trust and ethics assessments of data initiatives.
Desirable: Experience with data governance frameworks such as data stewardship and data quality assurance .
Experience in managing projects related to the Governance of Indigenous Data or similar initiatives.
This role provides the opportunity to work on high-impact projects, including the myGov platform , and make a significant contribution to the agency's data governance and management practices.
