Team and Role Overview
The Claims Governance Team (CGT) provides clear, up-to-date, and accurate policy guidance and Claims Manual content for the Claims Management Group (CMG). CGT supports CMG in improving client experience, return to health and return to work by continuously enhancing key objectives, including Claims Manual updates, helpdesk functions, service rates, governance materials, and online platform development.
The Senior Claims Governance Officer develops Comcare's claims management governance and administers the rules for claims operations. They contribute to operationalising legislation and policy changes, continuous improvement activities, and stakeholder engagement to establish CMG positions on matters without scheme guidance. The role manages and maintains content for claims management operations on Comcare's internet and intranet using SharePoint and other technology systems. They support the Group in updating online platforms, including ClaimsHQ, ComNet, and the external website. The Senior Claims Governance Officer reports to the Assistant Director, Claims Governance, and assists with supervising and developing other staff members. They contribute to Comcare's purpose, Corporate Plan, and claims management strategy and operating model.
Qualifications and Experience
Desirable
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as law, health, compensation, business or management.
Experience in an insurance or injury compensation environment.
Eligibility and Specific Conditions of Employment
Australian citizenship.
Character clearance (Australian Criminal History Check).
Employee Health Declaration.
Six months probationary period for new engagements.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance.
