APS6 - Senior Adviser Integrity and Risk Location: Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne or Sydney The National Anti-Corruption Commission enhances integrity in the Commonwealth public sector by deterring, detecting and preventing corrupt conduct involving Commonwealth public officials.
It does this through education, monitoring, investigation, reporting and referral.
This is an exciting time to join the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC).
In its establishment phase, we are looking for outstanding individuals to embed robust systems and processes, deliver exciting and diverse projects and demonstrate innovation and commitment to integrity in the public service.
NACC staff work in a complex and dynamic setting where exceptional judgement and an ability to achieve results is critical.
Successful candidates will have the ability to cooperate, manage, lead and perform successfully across corporate and operational functions.
About this opportunity The NACC has a Senior Adviser Integrity and Risk position available for immediate filling in either Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne or Sydney.
A merit pool will be established to fill vacancies arising in the next 18 months.
About the role The Senior Adviser Integrity and Risk reports to the Assistant Director Integrity and Risk.
This position is part of a small Integrity and Risk team within the Governance section, which is led by the Director Governance within the Office of the CEO.
The team is responsible for overseeing enterprise, integrity, fraud and corruption, and business continuity risks within the parameters of the Commission's policy frameworks.
At times your work will have high levels of autonomy and require you to demonstrate initiative, leadership and good planning to ensure priorities are delivered and add value.
You will support business units across the agency with expertise to manage risk in their area, requiring you to be an effective communicator with stakeholders at all levels.
Key activities Risk Management Carry out and develop reports on risk assessment and control testing activities that identify vulnerabilities, emerging threats, and opportunities for improvement.
Ongoing monitoring of identified risks, treatments or remedial actions to resolution and closure.
Support business units to manage risks in their area as part of their business planning, operational and project activities.
Provide expertise and guidance to stakeholders to uplift risk management capability, culture, and support positive engagement with risk to ensure compliance with Commonwealth requirements.
Fraud and Corruption Control Carry out and develop reports on fraud and corruption risk assessment and control testing activities that identify vulnerabilities, emerging threats, and opportunities for improvement.
Ongoing monitoring of identified risks, treatments or remedial actions to resolution and closure through fraud and corruption control plans.
Contribute to ongoing maintenance and maturity of the Commission's Fraud and Corruption Control Framework, processes, and resources.
Integrity Provide advice and support to staff, business units and the executive on the Commission's Integrity Framework, including individual policy requirements.
Assist with the co-ordination, delivery and management of integrity policy activities such as annual declarations and gift and benefit reporting.
Support the secure management and handling of integrity information, showing high levels of maturity, confidentiality, and compliance with information security requirements.
Business Continuity Support business areas with guidance on the Commission's Business Continuity Plan and engage with relevant areas on maintenance and testing of the plan.
Support, provide guidance to, and contribute to the disaster recovery, crisis management or incident response plans of critical functions across the Commission.
Eligibility Employment with the NACC is subject to the following conditions: Citizenship – applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
Security clearance – this is a Designated Security Assessment Position.
The occupant of this position will be required to undergo and maintain a security clearance to Negative Vetting 1.
Suitability assessment - the NACC must be satisfied that successful applicants are of suitable character.
They must undergo a rigorous pre-employment suitability screening process that can be intrusive in nature including (but is not limited to) detailed background, character, employment, police and financial checks.
Probation - a probation period will apply to a new ongoing engagement in the Australian Public Service.
