The Murray-Darling Basin Authority (MDBA) is an independent government agency which, in partnership with Basin governments, manages the Murray–Darling Basin's water resources in the national interest.
With the enactment of the Water Act 2007, the MDBA was established as an independent expertise-based statutory agency.

The Position The Secretariat Officer works within a small team to deliver customer-focused, high-level secretariat support for various committees.
We are seeking an experienced administrative professional and skilled communicator with the flexibility, motivation, and desire to make a difference with their strong organisational and coordination skills.
The role works closely with all divisions of the Murray-Darling Basin Authority, other agencies of the Australian Government, the Basin States and Territories and wider stakeholders.
Your key responsibilities in this role are to Provide secretariat support to committees and boards, including the MDBA's Audit and Risk Committee and the Advisory Committee on Social, Economic and Environmental Sciences.
Prepare draft agendas and meeting papers as well as attend meetings for the purposes of compiling draft minutes and action items from meetings Plan and co-ordinate meeting arrangements including briefings Manage timeframes to ensure the successful delivery of meetings including overseeing meeting arrangements such as travel, room bookings, catering etc.
Manage the co-ordination, completion, and clearance of agenda papers and ensure meeting papers are circulated to members on time Complete post meeting tasks including accurate record keeping Actively manage stakeholders through liaison with committee Chairs and members, state contact officers, the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water and MDBA staff.
