About Our Client Responsible for strategic policy leadership in national security, emergency management, counter-terrorism, social cohesion, border integrity, and national infrastructure resilience, the Media & Communication Branch plays a crucial role within a larger governmental organisation. Tasked with centrally coordinating media inquiries and strategic communications, the Branch collaborates with several sections to provide influential services for Portfolio Ministerial offices, senior public servants, and departmental business areas. As part of this dynamic communication team, you'll contribute to shaping and promoting key initiatives while supporting the objectives of the broader governmental structure. Joining this team offers a unique opportunity to engage in diverse communication responsibilities within the federal government, influencing public perception and contributing to the organisation's overarching goals Job Description Manage media engagement and develop materials for the Department, including responses, releases, talking points, op-eds, and handling strategies. Oversee media and communication for corporate functions, regional processing, health services policy, international policy, and external scrutiny. Contribute to creative strategic communication, monitoring progress in a fast-paced environment. Coordinate input for strategic communication and media advice to key stakeholders. Write, review, and produce high-quality communication materials for diverse audiences. Manage media enquiries, liaise with policy and operational areas, and exercise professional judgement. Collaborate on various communication products, including web content, video, digital, and print. Participate in the out-of-hours media on-call roster and design, develop, implement, and evaluate media and communication activities. Establish effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, providing strategic advice on media-related matters. The Successful Applicant We are seeking communication professionals for a dynamic, creative environment with a focus on delivering innovative communication. Strong client focus and ability to coordinate effectively with other teams. Passionate, creative team member with the capacity for autonomous work. Proactive relationship-builders and initiative-takers, exercising sound professional judgement. Ability to thrive under tight deadlines in a complex environment, managing multiple demands. Highly developed communication skills for establishing productive working relationships at all levels. Highly desirable qualifications in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, or extensive relevant experience. Must be an Australian Citizen Current Baseline security security is highly desirable, must have ability to obtain and maintain baseline.
