This pivotal role combines autonomy and leadership responsibilities, making it ideal for professionals with a strong understanding of procurement practices and a passion for delivering impactful outcomes.
As an APS6 Procurement Officer, you will work collaboratively, lead priorities, and manage workflows to support key organizational objectives.
You'll provide expert advice on procurement matters and contribute to strategic planning, program management, and policy development.
Key Responsibilities: Act as a procurement business partner to establish methodologies, prepare documentation, evaluate tenders, and negotiate contracts.
Oversee procurement reporting, verification activities, and processing within the financial management system.
Develop, implement, and maintain procurement and contract management policies, procedures, and frameworks.
Collaborate on procurement planning activities with the wider team and across the agency.
Provide specialist procurement advice, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs) , and agency policies.
Deliver value-for-money procurement outcomes aligned with the agency's goals, including improved social and economic results for people with disabilities.
Offer timely, high-quality advice to stakeholders, including branch and executive leadership.
Lead and progress work area activities to achieve objectives.
What You Bring to the Role: Essential Skills: Solid understanding of Federal/State Government procurement processes.
Proven stakeholder engagement and exceptional communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite .
Experience managing high-volume tasks in a dynamic environment.
Desirable Skills: Familiarity with Procurement, HR, or Project Management systems.
Staff management experience.
