APS6 Policy, Project and Corporate Officers Skip to content As an APS6 in this position you will support business areas to anticipate and analyse policy issues with a whole-of-economy or agency wide perspective, understand government and stakeholder circumstances and respond to changing events and directions.
This is your unique opportunity to play a key role in shaping policy advice and assisting in the implementation of Commonwealth Government initiatives. Additionally, there are also corporate positions available that play a crucial role in the agency's enabling operations.
These roles include various corporate functions, including HR, and serve as the backbone of the agency.
By providing essential enabling services across different functions, these positions ensure the smooth and efficient running of the agency's activities. Your responsibilities may include: delivering projects, programs or corporate priorities using approved processes and systems and coordination of a range of work and operational activities such as procurement and contract management undertaking research, analysis and monitoring, preparing reports and briefings to Treasury Ministers and senior Executives and contributing to Cabinet submissions and parliamentary question responses contribute to the development of strategic policy advice on a range of matters relevant to required deliverables developing legislative materials and advice on a range of legislation process matters relating to the introduction of Bills, parliamentary procedures and decision making participating in consultation and stakeholder engagement and representing the work area at internal and external forums. Opportunities are available in the following areas: public policy finance, accounting / and budgeting law regulatory / compliance economics, data and statistics information management Human Resources / Corporate (including communications) ICT governance and reform secretariat / executive coordination This vacancy is open to Australian Citizens only and you must have the ability to obtain and maintain a minimum Baseline security clearance.

The Commonwealth Treasury began operations in Melbourne in January 1901, the smallest of the seven Commonwealth departments established with Federation.
The original five members of the department were bookkeepers.
Today, as a central policy agency, the Treasury is expected to anticipate and analyse policy issues with a whole-of-economy perspective, understand government and stakeholder circumstances, and respond rapidly to changing events and directions.
The Treasury is engaged in a range of issues from macroeconomic policy settings to microeconomic reform, climate change to social policy, as well as tax policy and international agreements and forums.
The Treasury also has a program delivery role in supporting markets and business, and providing Commonwealth payments to the State and Territory governments.
