SYNOPSIS: About the Role
The Treasury is seeking collaborative and highly motivated individuals to work across the various Groups and Divisions as APS6 level Policy, Project and Corporate Service Officers.
As an APS6 in this position you will support business areas to anticipate and analyse policy issues with a whole-of-economy or agency wide perspective, understand government and stakeholder circumstances and respond to changing events and directions. This is your unique opportunity to play a key role in shaping policy advice and assisting in the implementation of Commonwealth Government initiatives.
Your responsibilities may include:
delivering projects, programs or corporate priorities using approved processes and systems and coordination of a range of work and operational activities such as procurement and contract management
undertaking research, analysis and monitoring, preparing reports and briefings to Treasury Ministers and senior Executives and contributing to Cabinet submissions and parliamentary question responses
contribute to the development of strategic policy advice on a range of matters relevant to required deliverables
developing legislative materials and advice on a range of legislation process matters relating to the introduction of Bills, parliamentary procedures and decision making
participating in consultation and stakeholder engagement and representing the work area at internal and external forums.

About you
Ideally you will have:
good analytical skills to understand complex issues and work with your team to identify opportunities and implement effective solutions.
strong written and oral communication skills to present clear messages tailored to your audience.
the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships and work collaboratively, respectfully and ethically at all times.
motivation to show initiative and deliver high quality work in a sometimes busy and high-pressure environment.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
You will have up to three years relevant career experience or transferable skills and demonstrate ability to support and engage the future direction of the Treasury.
Tertiary qualification(s) in economics, law, business, accounting, finance, public policy, political science, human resources, or mathematics/data science would be desirable.
Notes
This selection process will be used to fill various vacancies across multiple groups within the Treasury. Immediate positions are available in Canberra. Reasonable relocation assistance may be considered to undertake duties in Canberra. Future roles in Sydney and Melbourne may also be filled through this process. You will be asked to select your preferred location in the application form.
A merit pool may be established to fill future ongoing and non-ongoing similar vacancies, should they become available within 18 months from the date advertised.
Eligibility
This vacancy is open to Australian Citizens only and you must have the ability to obtain and maintain a minimum Baseline security clearance.
