Legislative Policy Officer (APS6) Our Commonwealth Government client is seeking to engage an experienced Legislative Policy Officer at the APS6 level to join their Strategy, Policy and Legislation team.
The successful candidate will provide comprehensive advice and support on policy matters and in relation to regulatory legislative frameworks.
An initial labour hire contract until 30th June 2025 is on offer, with possible 12-month extension.
This full-time role is located in Canberra CBD, with flexible working arrangements considered.
Please note: o nly Australian citizens with an ability to obtain and maintain Baseline security clearance can be considered for this role.
Duties : Working with the agency's legal team on assessing, advising on and mitigating risks associated with delegation Developing drafting instructions and advising on edits for the commercial determination Re-drafting the regulator's intergovernmental agreement Developing drafting instructions for legislative amendments and supporting their progression through the legislative process Preparing briefs to decide on requests from suppliers to be exempt from requirements in the regulator's determinations.
Supporting the drafting and finalisation of other legislative instruments.
Requisite skills/experience: Strong communications skills.
Experience as a practicing lawyer and/or in legislation development Previous experience in government setting.
Problem solving skills.
Regulatory experience.
