SMG is insight-driven and works with scheme participants to achieve sustainable and better practice national schemes.The Chief Data Office team is part of SMG and is responsible for ensuring that Comcare takes a mature and sophisticated approach to the management and use of data.
To achieve that, the team works across Comcare to:Improve enterprise data governance.Foster a data-driven organisational culture.Deliver better insights through new platforms and capability uplift.Ensure data architecture and data models cater for versatile reporting and analytics needs.Delineate impacts within our data environment to facilitate a better understanding and implementation of effective controls.Create a framework that helps people understand their responsibilities when it comes to data.Embed continuous improvement in process and quality of data captures.Ensure consistency in the description of common data terms.Ensure data is leveraged effectively to solve business problems.Enable data capability gaps to be identified and addressed across Comcare so that Groups can be more self-sufficient in working with data.The Chief Data Office team has a dynamic culture that values purposeful work, making a positive impact, and integrity.
As part of this, it promotes a culture of valuing others, commitment, wellbeing, opportunity, and celebrating achievements.Key ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Assistant Director, Data Modelling, the Junior Data Architect supports the review of current state data architecture and the design and implementation of Comcare's target state data architecture.
The Junior Data Architect:Maintains visibility of Comcare's data assets.Develops documentation to illustrate data flow through our systems.Provides a blueprint for managing data to meet business needs.Develops and maintains a dedicated library of data artefacts to enable effective data governance.Assists in the development of internal standards to promote data quality.Plays a key role in the design and implementation of new technology solutions in line with the target state data architecture.Comcare recognizes that a well-designed data architecture is a crucial enabler to achieving organisational objectives and is looking to invest in its data architecture capability in recognition of the critical role it plays in maximizing the value of data and enabling strong governance in a modernizing technology environment.This is a well-supported role in terms of both informal and formal learning and development opportunities.Mandatory ExperienceExperience with a wide range of cloud-based data technologies and tools, including one or more of the following: MS SQL, Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Databricks, Power BI.Strong practical understanding of data architecture, database structure principles, and standards.Security ClearanceAbility to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance.How to ApplyPlease review the Job Information Pack and provide a statement of claims outlining what you could bring to this position, including your skills, experience, and knowledge relevant to the job-specific capabilities and role (maximum 2 pages).#J-18808-Ljbffr
