The RoleThe Information Registries Officer is responsible for assisting the Deputy Director of Data Strategy & Policy – Air Force to mature and manage Air Force's governance functions for data management.
As part of the Data Strategy & Policy team, the Information Registries Officer manages the Air Force's information registries to provide governance and management capabilities for its key information and data assets, by:
Leading the management of the Air Force Information Asset Register;
Leading the development and undertaking of data audits to ascertain data asset scope, quality, meta-data, access controls, and support requirements;
Providing advice to Air Force on the effective implementation of data management policies and procedures;
Assisting in the provision of training and advice on data management behaviours and practices, including ad hoc responses to queries and issues; and
Assisting in the management and coordination of the Information and Data Governance – Air Force (IDG-AF) communications efforts, including intranet pages, stakeholder forums, information management updates and other products.
About our TeamSituated within Air Force Headquarters, the Information and Data Governance – Air Force (IDG-AF) team is charged with enabling Air Force to manage and use its information assets to support timely and effective decisions.
IDG-AF has two teams that work closely together to achieve outcomes in a complex and interconnected domain:
Information Management – Air Force's
(IM-AF) purpose is to manage Air Force's governance functions for information management. The IM-AF team ensures information management policies and procedures are current, align with broader Defence policies and legislation, are understood across Air Force, and are implemented effectively.
Data Policy & Strategy's
(DPS-AF) purpose is to mature and manage Air Force's governance functions for data management. The DPS-AF team ensures data management policies and procedures are current, align with broader Defence policies and legislation, data quality and standards across AF, and supporting the maturation of AF's data-informed decision-making.
Our Ideal CandidateYou will be a capable analyst with a passion for effective data management at an organisational level. You will have experience and skills in database management that includes knowledge of data structures for analytical and transactional purposes, how a variety of database technologies are used in practice, and how to implement effective data governance practices.
