$91,702 - $104,753 + 10% BDCP + up to 15.4% Superannuation Adelaide - SA, Brisbane CBD - QLD, Canberra - ACT, Melbourne CBD - VIC, Perth CBD - WA, Sydney CBD - NSW The Role We are looking for Network Engineers to be part of our team focussing on Cloud Access Security Brokers (CASB), Secure Access Service Edge (SASE), and Software-Defined Wide Area Networks (SD-WAN).
These roles are critical in ensuring secure, scalable, and optimised network connectivity across hybrid environments, with an emphasis on integrating security into cloud services and remote access.

These roles will be part of larger project teams to develop solutions and deliver capability.
These are new roles in a growing Branch, and you will be part of the teams instrumental in helping to build both human and technical capabilities to achieve the Defence mission.
This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP).
This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Agreement (DEA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability.

About our Team You will be part of a team of ICT professionals delivering complex projects across key Digital domains in both the Military and Enterprise Systems Divisions within Defence Digital Group (DDG).

Our Ideal Candidate You will have one or more of the following: Experience in networking, security, and modern network architectures Experience with Netskope, Zscaler, Cloudflare, Akamai, and Citrix Netscaler or similar products Experience and/or knowledge in implementation of Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) frameworks to control and secure access to resources based on identity, device, and security posture The ability to design, configure, and implement SD-WAN infrastructure, ensuring reliable and optimised network performance across multiple locations Familiarity with Palo Alto firewalls and Cisco routers and switches Experience and/or knowledge in developing Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) solutions to secure edge devices, cloud applications, and remote users while simplifying network management Ability to configure firewalls, VPNs, IPS/IDS systems, and other perimeter security devices Experience with implementing and maintaining Zero Trust principles within the network to secure both cloud and on-premises environments is desirable; Experience collaborating with the IT operations and security teams to maintain high levels of network performance and security, cloud service integration, and seamless connectivity for remote and distributed teams.
