Government organisation seeking a Health, Safety, Well being Governance and Compliance Lead on a 12 month contract.Paying $65-$75 an hour + SuperFlexible working arrangements available.Open to candidates Australia wide.Must be able to obtain a baseline security clearance.Responsibilities:Actively build HSW leadership and capability within the business, and embed HSW functions and activities into daily work to promote positive HSW performance.Facilitating the effective implementation of the departmental HSW governance arrangements.Providing accurate and useful advice and support aligned to HSW policy and relevant legislative guidelines.Facilitating the effective implementation of the departmental HSW Training Needs Analysis (TNA) program.Monitor the departmental TNA program.Monitor the departmental Support Role program (Workplace Contact Officer/ Health and Safety Representative/ First Aid Officer).Review (and develop – where required) through consultation with stakeholders on the relevant HSW training packages.Developing and facilitating the implementation and management of the departmental HSW audit and assurance program.Providing support and advice to staff on effective incident management in accordance with the department's HSW policy and procedure, and relevant HSW legislative guidelines.Providing regular reports on HSW data (incidents and hazards, strategic programs and audit and assurance activities (i.e. Divisional, WHS Committees, Quarterly and Annual Executive)) identifying trends either positive or negative, emerging risk and opportunities for improvement.Undertaking objective, systematic analysis of HSW related matters, conducting research and applying professional judgement to determine appropriate courses of action based on evidence.Advocating for the strategic goals of the broader HSW team, supporting the implementation of new HSW initiatives, programs, and systems, contributing to planning and identifying opportunities for improvement.Providing detailed professional, technical and policy advice in relation to complex problems and assist in strategic planning, program and project management and policy development.Consulting with stakeholders on HSW matters to achieve stated goals and to build strong working relationships.Working autonomously, taking personal responsibility for meeting objectives and completing work.Communicating with confidence and clarity in both written and verbal forms, tailoring communication style and messaging to suit the needs of various audiences.Demonstrating self-awareness and a commitment to personal development and training as needed.Actively supporting the HSW Section mission, objectives, and commitments per the HSW charter and strategy, and ensure high quality service delivery to the department.Undertaking ad-hoc tasks and duties at the direction of your HSW Assistant Director – Risk, Systems and Governance.Skills and Experience:Contemporary and comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Work Health and Safety Act and Regulations, Codes of Practice, and relevant Australian and International Standards, and their application in a Commonwealth Government work environment.At least five year's experience working in a similar HSW role.Note: Must be able to obtain a Baseline Clearance.Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples are encouraged to apply.To apply please click apply or call Jericho Martinez on 61 3 8628 2103 for a confidential discussion.Salary: AUD65 - AUD70 per hour + + Super + WFHCome join our global team of creative thinkers, problem solvers and game changers.
